On May 4, an Edmonton-area woman named Lois Paterson-Gartner, 55, was shot to death in her home by her husband. Her daughter Sarah, 13, was also murdered. The husband/father then killed himself. This is the catastrophic end most feared by those of us working to end men’s violence in intimate relationships.
We are a non-profit organization that aims to give every child the opportunity to share their views and have them heard when their best interests are decided in the family justice system.
“Child abuse” includes physical, emotional and sexual abuse and/or neglect. It also addresses a pattern of abuse and risks of harm.
